My name is Brenda Kirk, and I am a lifelong Democrat and volunteer.

I am currently Campbell County State Committeewoman and Precinct Committeewoman for Gillette 01-07. I have been a delegate for Bernie Sanders twice representing Campbell County, and most recently helped Campbell County revamp its campaign platform for 2026.

When I was nine, a woman from my hometown church ran for Ingham County Commissioner, which was my first experience with politics. After her campaign ended she founded Soaring Unlimited, a nonprofit that has been building schools, clinics, and infrastructure in Cap Haitien since the 1990s. My earliest ministry projects were for Soaring Unlimited, working with Haitian refugees and children.

My husband and I moved to Gillette in 2015 to be closer to our family here. After a 17 year career in broadcast television, I started the digital news stream “County 17” for Wyoming software company Pitchengine. I currently work for the original flagship news brand, County 10, which is under new ownership.

I have served on multiple boards over the years, and was previously the Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity in Gillette. When I’m not out fishing, hiking, or roller skating, I am volunteering for the City of Gillette’s Historic Preservation Commission as its Chair.

I also own and operate the skate shop WyoSkate, which carries certified protective gear, inline and quad roller skates, skateboards, and accessories. It will be 10 years old this October, and is a labor of love.

I believe in Campbell County’s potential to be a leader and innovator in whatever field we are a part of, whether that continues to be dominance in the energy sector, or new horizons for the 21st Century. Campbell County residents are creative and hard-working and thrive when given a challenge.

I am running to remind people that they have the ability to shape their community to reflect Wyoming values, so long as they are willing to stand up for it.
